The bicycle is an efficient way to get around. The bicycle is the “fad that lasted”. And people have moved the contents of their home via human powered bikes with trailers. Big things too, such as mattresses and pianos and sofas.

Here is a “how to” guide by Portland’s SHIFT shift2bikes.org/wiki/bikefun:move_x_bike

Below is a StreetFilms video of a Portland, Oregon self move from almost a decade ago:

And there are a few companies that will move you professionally by bike.

Sorry George Costanza there have been yet even more advances in toilet paper …

Use your toilet paper roll box as tissues for your nose. Instead of carrying around a toilet paper roll, reuse a square tissue box.

Open the tissue box

Cut out or pull out the center tube of the toilet paper roll

Place toilet paper roll in tissue box. Pull tissue from the center through the tissue box opening

Tape the box closed

You can also use Scott Naturals™ Tube-Free Bath Tissue scottbrand.com/products/toilet-paper/tubefree , so there is no roll to be removed.

Video here for these instructions: dailyfinance.com/2012/02/03/savings-experiment-tissues-vs-toilet-paper/

There are also more permanent toilet / bath paper roll to tissue dispenser products on amazon:

Or you can skip using the old toilet paper box and keep the outside from unwinding by taping or wrapping in cardboard/ paperboard or card stock. See Instructables instructions: instructables.com/id/Toilet-Paper-into-a-Nice-Tissue-Dispenser

Now you have reused your tissue box You will save from buying extra packaging in the future for tissue box purchases. Best of all you will save money and never run out of “tissues” again.

Or when I reuse You

Happy Earth day.

Over the years I have seen many pianos just disposed of [...]

Over the years I have seen many pianos just disposed of. Many people are in shock that it will cost then at least $300 to move a piano their friend is giving them for free. And that would be a for a small spinet piano that 2 movers can transport. An Upright Grand or baby grand piano will require 3 movers to transport. Often I have charged clients just to take away and dispose of the 300 – 800 pound monster. It is such a shame, many pianos have beautiful craftsmanship and many be over 100 years old. A cracked soundboard often makes the pianos not worth the effort to restore.

This is one way you can change your perspective and repurpose that old baby grand piano into a bookshelf or book case.

via BookPorn:

Another one via Green Spot antique shop:

OK so it appears in December 2012 Linkedin moved and r [...]

OK so it appears in December 2012 Linkedin moved and removed 3rd Party content that was connected to your profile.

LinkedIn got rid of “applications” such as Amazon’s Reading List and wordpress blog and replaced “applications” with “Media”.
But there are only certain approved media link providers

textureweb.com talks about how you can add the new media to your LinkedIn profile.

So you will need to do some tweaking on your LinkedIn personal brand.

If you have a wordpress blog on WordPress.com ,
Enable the Publicize setting for LinkedIn on your dashboard
If you self host you need to install a LinkedIn approved wordpress plugin:
Automatic’s Jetpack plugin

http://help.linkedin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34326

Then add and authorize your social networking sites to your blog thru Jetpack. When you create a post
there are options to publish that post again on social media. You can quickly edit that thru the “Add new post” screen.

Amazon’s Reading List is no longer supported and there is an email provided on the Assistance with Applications page

Not sure if there is a way to download your amazon reading list. You may email:

readinglist-feedback@amazon.com

I am sure there will be alternative providers or a way to link a booklist to your LinkedIn profile thru your wordpress blog or other media.

Hope this helps.

Some LinkedIn links to help fix your LinkedIn links.

In July 2012 Bishop’s Move based in Chessington, Surrey, UK drove? a 1929 Foden Model HH steam wagon from Surrey to Cornwall, UK.

It is equipped and painted as a “truck” or Lorry would have been at the time. They traveled 265 miles at approx 15 mph. It runs on coal and water.

Would you say this is a green transport vehicle? The coal produces waste. But so does the coal plant that generates electricity for your hybrid or electric vehicle.
